US Green Building Council
"Greening the
Heartland"
Presentation
John Tintera, Principal with Centaurus
Partners, LLC, will present on the topic of "Selling Green Building
Initiatives to Corporations" at the Greening the Heartland
conference in Kansas City, May 17-19, 2006. Mr. Tintera will
address issues related to effectively communicating the benefits of
sustainable real estate behavior outside of the context of the
development, design, and construction sectors that are already aware of
many benefits as seen from their own perspectives.
In order to convince corporate
management of the advantages behind green building initiatives, it is
important to utilize the objectives and language of corporate goals.
If a green building initiative is
proposed in terms of control and accountability, public relations, risk
management, continuous quality improvement, and innovation, such
language will make a proposal more easily understood by corporate
decision-makers and accelerate the acceptance and ultimate integration
of sustainable building practices within the larger corporate goals.
